On a cool  Wednesday, January 9, 1935 to be exact,  Lawyer and Emma Hampton Johnson were blessed with thier first girl child.  She would be  the oldest of six children born to the Johnson union.  They named her Helen. Her siblings loved her dearly and affectionately called her “Sister”. On a chilly Sunday evening, Ocotber 25, 2015,  to be exact, Helen stepped from mortality to immortality.

Helen was an active member of St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church until her health started  to fail. She raised her children there and served on numerous committees.

In 1951, Helen became the beautiful bride of Gene Worley.  To this union, eight children were born: three boys and five girls.

Helen loved to cook. And, cook she did.   Sweet potato pies, pecan pies, pound cakes, greens, and dressing, just to name a few.  She was  also a caregiver to  her siblings  and her  parents.

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, Helen transitioned to her heavenly home to be greeted by many loved ones; her husband, Gene Worley;  her sons, Bennie, Richard, and Jimmy;  her daughters: Linda and Helen; her parents Lawyer Johnson and Emma Hampton; and  her brothers , Willie Johnson, Jessie Johnson, George Hampton, and David Charles Hampton.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving ways, and her awesome spirit, : three  grateful daughters, Edna Higgins (James) of Lithonia , GA,  Callie Worley of Acworth, GA, and Rose Worley of Bastrop, LA; seven grandchildren, Shawnte’ Butler (Chad) of Clinton, MS, Tangy Lipscomb (William) of  Decatur, GA, Kiesha Parker (Eric) of Snellville, GA, Jimmy C.
