Then I saw a new Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:1-4

Michael’s Memories

Tuesday, April 16, 1988 was a beautiful warm day; a typical day in Bastrop, LA as Dorothy Green eagerly awaited the birth of her baby. She was resting because she knew that her time of delivery was near.  As evening turned into night, she felt little twinges and she KNEW that her time of delivery was indeed at hand.  Fearing that her time was asoon, her sister, Ollie, called for a taxi to take her to the hospital.  And who was be her driver on this blessed evening?  Mr. Johnny Eave transported Ollie and Dorothy by taxi to Morehouse General Hospital to eagerly await the arrival her new bundle of joy.  Her stay in her hospital room would not be long.  As darkness blanketed the hospital, Dorothy Green gave birth to a 7lb. 8oz. son.  To this boy child was given the  Michael Santonio Green after  father Michael Carbage.  On Saturday morning, March 5, 2016 around 7:15 a.m., Michael Santonio "Colehouse" Green stepped from mortality into immortality and joined the many family members who had gone on before him.

Michael grew up in a family filled with so much love, so many activities, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles and aunts.  There was never a dull moment in his home.  As a baby, he endeared himself to family members so much, that many considered him “spoiled.” He loved to be held and his dear “Tiffy” would carry him around on a pillow because she could not bear to hear him cry.  Now, “Love” was his other mother, even though he could often be heard saying, “You’re not my momma.”  Michael was a natural leader and the other children followed him.  If Michael said, “Go,” they would go; if he said “No,” they would stay. His persona drew people to him. He never met a stranger and, if by chance, he did, his broad smile would turn that stranger into a friend.

At a very early age, Michael gave his life to Christ and united with the St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Eddie Dean Montgomery.

Nicknames were very popular when Michael was a little one.  After much consideration and because of the frigid condition in the house one day, it was decided that little Michael would become “Coldhouse,” a name that would stay with him forever.

He was always active and at any given moment would turn flips “just for fun." He loved all sports but his passion was FOOTBALL!  His big brother, “Duke,” taught him how to play; and play WELL.  He attended elementary school but longed to get to Bastrop High School so that he could play football. He looked forward to playing under the "Friday Night Lights" in Rams Stadium. The highlight of his football career at Bastrop High School was the 28-14 victory over Archbishop Shaw to win the State Farm 4-A Prep Classic in the Superdome on December 9, 2006. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 2007 and attended college at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Arkansas Baptist.

The joys of his life were his three children, Semaj, Mckinzie, and Jamir. At the time of his demise, he was employed by Rimco Construction.
