Mrs. Cora Morrison Minnieweather
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Morrison Minnieweather will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Green officiating. Interment will follow the services in Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Minnieweather will be Friday evening, January 4, 2019 from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel of Loche's Mortuary.

Officiating Cora's Journey
On March 4, 1952 a baby girl was born to the late W. C. and Gladys Morrison in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. She was the third child of eleven children born to this union. Cora grew up in Mer Rouge off the Bonne Idee before moving to Stampley and finally settling in Bastrop. Cora made the transition from labor to reward peacefully on December 29, 2018.
Sister Cora accepted Christ at an early age at the Little Dee Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and then New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Bastrop under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Green. She served on the Mother’s Board, sang in the Choir, was a member of the food ministry until her earthly departure. She attended Galion and Johnson Elementary schools and was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Delta/Bonita High School. On September8, 1975 she was united in holy matrimony to Arthur Lee Minnieweather. She was employed as a domestic engineer for thirty-nine years in the home of Mr. William and Lelia Davenport. She enjoyed cooking and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Gladys Morrison; and her baby sister, Katherine Morrison.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Yolanda (Howard) Hawkins and Katrina Morrison; one son: Marcell (Portia) Morrison; five sisters: Emma (Perry) Walker, Audrey Jackson ; Leida (Dennis) Fudge, Peggy (Larry) Patrick and Doris (Daryl)Fudge; four brothers: Willie C. (Dorothy) Morrison, Isaac Morrison, Lee Arthur (Maria) Morrison and Ray Charles (Charlotte) Morrison; three grandchildren; Corey Hawkins, Markail Talton, and Shinya Talton; one great granddaughter Emmarie Talton. Two special friends; Lottie Green and Ida Hawkins. Four sisters-in-laws; Velma Wright, Mamie Minnieweather, Karene Minneweather Terri (Hammer) Sonia; two brothers-in-laws; Minon Minnieweathe and Henry Minnieweather. She shared a special bond with nieces, nephews and a host of close relatives and friends.
