She was given the name Patrice Danielle Rogers. God blessed Patrice with her only child, a beautiful baby boy Preston Dean on May 22, 2019 at 6:01am. On Monday evening, May 27, 2019 Patrice stepped from mortality to immortality, caught a cloud bound for Glory, and joined family members who traveled before her. Preceding her in death were her mother, Patricia H. Rogers, her maternal and paternal grandparents Edgar and Maggie Hawkins,Nathaniel and Almeda Holmes and EnochRogers Jr. At an early age she joined Saint Mary C.M.E. Temple under the leadership of Rev. G. Marshall Hamlin. Patrice rededicated her life to Christ later in life as she joined her family as a member of True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Greg. L. Oliver, Sr. As a child she was very active and rambunctious. An extremely inquisitive and adventurous child, Patrice was known for her ability to process information and troubleshoot any technical problem in the workplace and in the family. She grew up as a tomboy on her grandparent’s farm on Red Hill where she fed chickens and taunted bulls in the pasture. She was known for rollerblading on top of her parent’s home and playing in the nearby canal ditch. Her love for her nieces and nephews was visibly maternal. She was extremely proud of Jameil, James, Taylor, Shamilyn and Cameron. Patrice loved to watch her father (C.K.) as he worked on various projects and learned to mimic him in so many ways. In her latter days Patrice matured into a beautiful multitalented woman and mother. Patrice graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 2005 and was seeking higher education at the time of her demise. Patrice was an integral part of her family's businesses, (URC, CRC and IHC) and was passionate about Mental Health. She enjoyed spending a great deal of time with her Jewel’s Family, assisting her Aunt Edna with various tasks, chastising her loving Charleigh (Pitbull) and shopping. Patrice also enjoyed spending quality time with her older cousin, Tiffany Horne Wyatt and family. Wonderful memories of her kind spirit, her infectious laughter, and her penchant for life will be missed by her loving father, Clark Rogers (Lynda), two sisters: Crystal Rogers Esters and Shayla Whitmore Smith (Rickey) of Monroe, LA., three brothers: Reginald Loche (Tisha) and Byron Lenord of Houston, TX., Alan Smith of Birmingham, AL; her son, Preston and fiancée Corey Harris and his children:: Cameron Harris and Korie Harris of Monroe, LA, her aunts: Edna Wilson, Donzia Releford (Ernesto), Carrie Black (Samuel), Debora Rogers, Merdis Robinson and Linda Bethea, all of Bastrop, LA, her uncle: Roy Rogers (Virginia) of Bastrop, LA; Great Aunt Daisy Bell Lee of Bastrop, LA; Godparents: Ruby and Julius Horne and Ruby Billups of Monroe, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
