Funeral services for Brenda Pearl Henderson, well-known resident, will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the chapel of Loche’s Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow in H. V. Adams Cemetery. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Loche’s Mortuary chapel on Friday, August 14, 2026.  To send flowers, light a candle, or Words of Condolence; kindly follow the directions to the right.

They Named Her Brenda

It was on a chilly Friday, they tell me, November 7, 1958, that Josie Benton gave birth to a girl child.  She named her Brenda Pearl.  Brenda would grow up in a home filled with love, stern discipline, and a strong faith in God.

She attended school in the Morehouse Parish Schools.  She and her siblings enjoyed the school activities, but Josie made sure that her children attended church and were involved in church activities, also.

Brenda was a kind and gentle spirit.  Taking care of people led her to the house keeping profession. She loved music. She especially enjoyed singing and playing the piano.  She had her favorite television shows, and  her favorite snacks for watching her favorite shows.

Brenda loved  music, especially singing and playing the piano. She enjoyed spending time at the casino. Her favorite times were those she spent sitting outdoors.  She cherished her quiet moments, smoking her cigarettes and simply taking in the day. These simple pleasures brought her comfort and joy and were a reflection of the unique personality and spirit that made her so special to everyone who knew and loved her.

On August 8, 2026, Brenda Pearl Henderson, quietly went home to be with her God.
