***************************
Delores Marie Jones was the name given to the pretty baby girl born to J. C and Gloria Bell Jones on January 21, 1949. On Friday, June 30, 2023, with her beloved Anthony near, Delores answered the Master's call and stepped from mortality into immortality and joined her parents and other relatives who had gone on before.
Delores was a member of Morehouse High School's Class of 1967. Her industrious nature compelled her to seek employment after graduation. Her early jobs included employment with local merchants who saw in her "the will to work."
When she was blessed with her "Anthony," she decided to give her full attention to him and she became a "stay at home Mom." Her life revolved around Anthony. They enjoyed amazing adventures together. When you saw Delores, you saw Anthony.
Delores' hobbies were uncomplicated. She enjoyed talking on the phone and shopping at Super 1. Simple pleasures for a special lady.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Sheila Jones, and her brother, Cleveland Ford.
Those left to cherish her memories are her devoted son, Anthony Frederic Jones of Bastrop, LA; one caring brother, Willie James Jones of Bastrop, LA; three nieces, Sylvia “Ne’se” Hunt-Griffin (Gerald) of Chicago, IL; Afiya “Buffy” Jones Code (Terence) of Bossier City, LA; and Christy Love Jones of CA; one nephew, Gemar Hayes of Bastrop, LA and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
