The Funeral Services celebrating the life of Dorothy Ann Seay will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026. at eleven a.m.   The services will be held at St. Matthew #1 Missionary Baptist Church.   Rev. Michael Seay will serve as the officiant.  Red Hill Cemetery will be the site of interment following the services.  To send flowers, plants, words of comfort, or light a candle, follow the directions to your left.

Dorothy Ann Seay Fenceroy

"The Accountant"

It was on a Tuesday, the 15th day of March to be exact  that  Lee Anna and Issac Seay received the first of their seven blessings.  It was  a girl child and they named her Dorothy Ann .

She was a member of the proud and industrious Armstrong family who believed in the value of hard work and helping your fellowman. Her parents stressed the importance of education and because of  this Doroty excelled academically at Union High School, graduating in the class of 1967. She attended THE Grambling State University and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She earned a degree in Social Work and a degree in Elementary Education.

She was married to Leotis Fenceroy. They left Louisiana, moving to Arkansas and eventually to Dallas, Texas.  They were not blessed with any children of their own, but her nurturing spirit endeared her to children in the family and young women who leaned on her for guidance.

After retiring from the Richardson Independent School District, Dorothy returned home and united with her family at the St. Matthew #1 Baptist Church.  Her kind heart and gentle spirit prompted her to start a Women's Ministry for young women to help them lead a life with Christian values.

She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, reading, organizing women's ministry, internet shopping, watching television, talking on the telephone with family and friends, collecting square figures, and butterflies. 

On May 31, 2026, Dorothy Ann Seay Fenceroy said goodbye to her earthly home, and joined her loved ones who had gone on before.  She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Bobby, Felix, Steve, and Issac Seay, Jr.  She leaves to cherish her guidance: a brother, Joe Willie Seay (Mary), and Donnie Jimmerson, an uncle who was more like a big brother, Harper  Armstrong (Lois), nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Dorothy lived a life of compassion, dedication, and most importantly, her love for God.  Her life was exemplified in the old scriptual:  "May the Works I've Done Speak for Me."
