Brother Earnest Smith
Funeral Services for Brother Earnest Smith will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Williams Drive Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. Brother Fredrick Smith will be the officiant of the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 on October 13, 2023 at the Williams Drive Church of Christ. The interment will follow the services in H. V. Adams Cemetery. Earnest Smith was born to the union of Warren D. Smith and Katie Wilson Smith on March 16, 1940 in the village of Mer Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Union High School and the University of Louisiana in Monroe.
He was married to Pauline Evans Smith, who preceded him in death. They were blessed with three children, Fredrick (Deborah), Lisa(Patrick) Coleman, and Nicolette (Chris) Releford. Brother Smith was a millwright by profession, working at Georgia Pacific Paper Company until retirement.
Brother Smith enjoyed reading his Bible, watching old westerns, and spending quality time with his family, especially his eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
"Faithful ministers of Christ, who aim at the edification and salvation of the people among whom they labour in the work of the ministry, ought to be honoured and esteemed by them." 1 Thess. 5:12, 13.
