Her Life - Her Legacy

"Strength and honour are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness"    Proverbs 31:25-26

On a crisp November Sunday, the 22nd to be exact, in the small town of Smackover in Union County - Arkansas, Fred Kelly, Sr. and Pauline Kelly eagerly awaited the birth of their fifth blessing. To this child was given the name Ethel.  Fondly called "Mutt" by her loved ones, she delighted in spending time with the family that she adored. On July 20, 2021, Ethel stepped from this mortal life into eternal glory and joined her loved ones: her parents Fred and Pauline Kelly, her former husband, Roy Lee Bradshaw, one son Roy Lee Bradshaw Jr., brothers and sisters, Fred Kelly Jr., Mable Brown, Early Jean, Nathaniel Kelly, Theodeous Kelly, Cleodeous Kelly, and one granddaughter Ronia Tappin.

Ethel was employed by the Morehouse General Hospital for some forty years touching the lives of so many. Retirement allowed her to indulge in her favorite hobbies which included fishing, cooking, and baking her famous sweet potato pies.  She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren as they participated in sporting events. She enjoyed watching "The Young and the Restless," and "Wheel of Fortune."  She was a loyal fan of her New Orleans Saints.

She was an active member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess on the Mother Board. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of being selfless and serving God and modeled this in her everyday life.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: four children Leanora Hicks (Romey), Billy Bradshaw (Beth),  Gwendolyn B. Rabun, and Willie Charles Bradshaw. She was blessed with five bonus children Christopher Anderson (Corita), LeShonda Anderson, Derrick Anderson, Terrance Anderson, and Katrina Washington; her godson, Allen Bradshaw; her sisters: Bessie Mouton, Shirley Kelly (Ricky), Linda Jackson (Donald);and  Mary Williams;twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and a host of family and friends.

"She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:27 - 28
