Obituary
" Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
It was a Friday in July 1940; the 19th to be exact, that Ola Mae Matthews and Robert Thomas were blessed with a baby girl. She was given the name Ethelene; but, as she grew older, she would lovingly answer to "Pot."
She was married for forty-nine years to the late Willie Winston, Jr. They were the parents of eight children.
Ethelene served as a bus driver for the children of Morehouse Parish for twenty-five years. An entrepreneur by nature, she was involved in numerous business ventures including owner and operator of Winston Cafe' in Mer Rouge, LA.
A kind-hearted caring mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend; a lover of her fellowman; a true-born child of God. Ethelene Winston loved people as was evident by her beautiful smile for all she met. On February 7, 2023, she stepped from mortality to immortality and boarded "her bus" to Glory.
