Jarvis Bartel Moore

A “Celebration of Life” for Jarvis Bartel Moore, well-known resident, will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Jerusalem #2 Missionary Baptist at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Sam Hubbard will be the officiating minister.   The Interment will follow in H. V. Adams Cemetery.   Visitation for Mr. Moore will be on Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, in the chapel of Loche’s Mortuary from four to six p.m. To send flowers or plants, light a candle, send words of condolence, kindly go to www.lochesmortuaryinc.com.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heavens; a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted….  Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

It was a Thursday afternoon, the eighth of February 1973 to be exact, that Walter and Zandria Rollins Moore were blessed with a beautiful bouncing baby boy. To this boy child was given the name Jarvis Bartel Moore. Weighing 7 lbs, 7oz, and measuring 20 ¾ inches at 1:55 pm, Bartel was Walter and Zandria's  first  born. He made his advent into the world in Landstuhl Army Hospital in Landstuhl because his mother was serving her country in the United States Army. 

Jarvis educational career began at Our Lady Help of Christian (OLHC) and continued at Bastrop High School. He was an avid basketball and baseball player, graduating in 1991.

On the evening of January 19, 2023, Bartel transitioned from this life to his Heavenly reward.  Preceding him in death were his mom (his best friend) Zandria Rollins Moore, his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jarvis leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Walter Moore Sr, his brother Walter Moore Jr, his sister GeShala Moore Bennett (LaDexter), his son KaTeem Edmonds, his grandson KaTeem GeMaire Edmonds, a host of relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
