"A Ray of Sunshine"
On Tuesday, August 18, 1936, in the small hamlet of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, Willie Lee and Earnestine Rowden Johnson were blessed with a beautiful girl child. They named her Lula Mae. She would be the first of six children. On May 2, 2023, Lula Mae Johnson Heard shed her earthly raiments, donned her long white robe, caught a cloud to Glory, and joined her parents, and other relatives who had gone on before.
Lula loved praising God. At an early age she joined the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, but later change her membership to Greater Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mozell Smith, Jr. She was a bright ray of sunshine at Greater Magnolia and spent some of the happiest years of her life enjoying God’s word and fellowshipping with her beloved friends on many occasions.
While her family grieves her loss, they choose to remember her in a way that honors her life.
“Rest in Love, Ms. Lula! You will be missed”
