Funeral services for Naomi Wimberly Norman, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and well-known citizen, will be held on Saturday, August  29, 2026, at the Morehouse Baptist Education Association Building at eleven a.m.  Elder Willie Bershell will serve as the officiant.   "A Gathering of Family and Friends" will be held on Friday evening, August 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Greater Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church.  The interment will follow the services in H. V. Adams Cemetery.  To send flowers, light a candle, or offer words of condolence, kindly follow directions to your left.

It was on a Wednesday, April 15, 1931, to be exact, that Salone Sherrone and Willie Ed Wimberly became the parents of a baby girl. It was in the spring in Wilmot, Arkansas when baby Naomi made her arrival. God truly blessed the young couple with a precious baby girl who would grow up, have children of her own, and raise them to be God-fearing and God- loving productive members of society.

Raised by her grandmother and great- grandparents, Naomi eventually moved to Louisiana, to the small hamlet of Mer Rouge. It was here that she met the handsome and debonair Willie Norman.

Now, Willie and Naomi were blessed with two boys and eight girls.  They instilled in their children the love for God by following His Commandments, the dignity of work, the importance of education, and being kind and respectful to all,  no matter what their station in life might be.  Married for forty eight years, Willie went home to be with God in 2005.

 Her wonderful ability to share her wisdom with others was her crowning glory.  Naomi never met a stranger and was loved by so many because of her kindness and her willingness to lend assistance to ANYONE.

She leaves to cherish her memories: eight grateful children, thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-two great- grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and so many acquaintances who will always remember the kind lady with caring heart, and REGAL smile.

Rest, Queen Naomi!  Rest!
