Funeral Services for Mr. Ollie Rayford Davis will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at high noon at the St. Mary CME Temple. Rev. Kenneth Jones is the officiant.  Interment will be held at H V Adams Cemetery. Wake services will be from 4-6 on Thursday, December 18, 2015 in the Loche's Mortuary Chapel.

Ollie Rayford Davis was born October 12, 1950 to the late Jack Davis and Christella Atkins in Bastrop, Louisiana (Morehouse Parish).  Ollie confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Alexander Lawson Memorial CME Church.

He attended Morehouse High School, graduating in 1968. At Morehouse, he was a member of  the Morehouse Marching Band under the direction of Mr. Charles Strickland.  After graduation, Ollie attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was employed at Rogers Pharmacy for over twenty years as a Delivery Driver.  He then moved to Burbank, California where he worked at Weber Aircraft assembling aircraft parts.  He returned home and was employed at Ginn’s Grocery and Conagra (Pilgrim’s Pride).  He was also a local electrician and plumber.

Ollie married Phyllis Dejohnette in 1971.  To this union, two children were born: a son, Alvin Davis and a daughter, Sharonda Davis.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Christella Atkins, his father, Jack Davis, a niece. Shijuana Linette Johnson, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Ollie leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted son, Alvin Davis (Camilla), a daughter, Sharonda Davis, his sister, Virginia Edwards (Ronnie), his special cousins, Carolyn Atkins and Fred Atkins; his grandchildren: Tamera, Briana, Antijah, Briajah, and a special mom, Nancy Dejohnette.  Ollie had a host of friends who refuse to mourn his death, but rather celebrate his life and their time together including Bishop Elect Charles Bradford, Clint Coleman, Jr., Lola Lollie, Earl Duke, Minnie Chafford, Robert Carr, and Donald Ray Washington.
