**Obituary**
On September 28, 1960, a Wednesday to be exact, Ray Louis Fudge and Rosie Lee Brown Fudge were blessed with a precious girl child. Rosa Marie "Tut" Fudge was the name given to this beautiful baby girl. She was a delight to her family with her quick wit and infectious smile.
Rosa attended Bastrop High School and was a proud member of the 1978 graduating class. She was employed by International Paper Company where she made friends that would last a lifetime. When IP closed, she embarked on another career and worked another ten years as a team member at Wal-Mart. There, too, she made friends and touched the lives of old and young alike. She never met a stranger and would counsel with and encourage her fellow co-workers. She was truly a blessing to her family, friends, and co-workers.
In 2000 she married, Herbert Jones. Even though they parted ways in 2007, they remained good friends and talked every day.
God blessed her with three children. Her firstborn, Shalonda, was a bright intelligent little girl who loved to dance and perform for family and friends. Her second, Jasmine was her free spirit child, so like Rosa in many ways; exceptionally bright with a mind of her own. Her third, her only boy, Herbert was her baby, who was protected and cared for by his two big sisters. Being the only boy definitely had its advantages and he loved the attention that was showered on him.
Rosa's life centered around spoiling her grandchildren and her children. She enjoyed Yahtzee, playing cards, music, and dancing to all types of music. When shopping for anything, she would gravitate to anything "red."
On November 10, 2020, Rosa hearkened to her Master's voice, caught a cloud, and stepped from mortality into immortality. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beautiful smile, and her infectious laughter, three grateful children, Shalonda Fudge Smith(Jason), Jasmine Fudge Caldwell (Kenneth), and Herbert Fudge; six brothers: Charles Benton (Brenda), James Benton (Charles-Zetta), Felton Benton, Jr. (Sandra), Jessie Benton (Deborah), Roscoe Benton(Antionette), and Lawrence Calvin; her bonus mom Betty Fudge, seven sisters: Josie Loche, Beatrice Richardson (James), Learie Henderson (Mac), Annie Calvin, and Mary Wells (Charles), Alfreda Evans and Colestine Thornton, her ex-husband, Herbert Jones with a bonus daughter, Monica Jones; eleven grandchildren, Kamron, Kendall, Kaiden, Kenneth, Jr., Kenniya, Kennah, Jason, Jr., Justin, Khylie,Khylon, and Ahkemus; one aunt, Deloris Whaley, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She had quite a few sayings, but her favorite PG saying when asked her name, she would say, "It's Rosa with an A.
My Mother - The Rose
A rose so rare, one of its kind,
love and beauty a mother, yes! Mine.
A rose without thorns,
not a petal was torn,
a perfect rose stood straight and tall,
our mother was the most precious of all.
A rose that survived the worst kind of weather and yet the most delicate ever,
a rose with a fragrance,
there could be no other,
you see this rose is
Our Mother.
A rose is picked and put to dry,
the beauty is still there,
it never dies!
Rest Mommy! Rest!
