The Steps of a Good Man

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”

October 18, 1968 was the 292nd day of the year. It was a Friday in Eudora, Arkansas.  On this day life would change for Charles Jean Tolbert and Henry Newson, Sr. On this day, life for them would change dramatically.  It was on this day that God blessed them with a beautiful baby boy.  To  this  fifth blessing was given the name Victor R. Newson.

Victor  had a natural "gift of gab." Cooking and talking were his ways of bringing people together.

When he was a child, he, like most children his age, was  fascinated with Michael Jackson. He also liked rap and would listen for hours to TuPac  and "Ready for the World."  He reenacted  Michael Jackson videos. He loved singing although he was a bit lacking in that area.

Victor was a fierce protector of his family. When "situations needed to be handled, " Victor did not mind coming to the rescue of his relatives and his friends.  He loved communing with nature and could spend hours outside.  He also loved to talk and cook.

Victor  was blessed with four children: DeArea Perry, Victoria George, DeVonta Tibbs, and Amber Hernandez. Shopping with and for Victoria was one of his favorite past times.

On November 6, 2022, a Sunday morning, at Hawkins Residential, Victor  joined loved ones who had  gone on before him.

"A  father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way." —
